The hedges are turning green, and trees are bursting into life. Carpets of bluebells adorn the ancient woodlands, and now soft pinks and whites appear at eye level as the blossom emerges in hedges, garden trees, on common land and orchards.
Oh, to be in England at this time of year, to see the glory of nature, now enhanced by the sight of lambs frolicking in the sunshine.
But then, we come back to face reality as we listen to the news, read the daily newspapers and become aware just how privileged we are to live amongst nature and experience our own communities where we feel relatively safe.
We do not need to look far to see the unrest and turmoil seething beneath the surface of our inner cities. The chaos, unrest and criminal entitlement which is already seeping into our once tranquil county villages and towns. There is danger.
Young women and girls are afraid to walk out at night. They are harassed in the streets, on public transport, and at school where they should feel safe. There is uncertainty and tension caused by drugs, hostile migration, lack of discipline in schools and homes. The latter often due to poor parenting, one parent families, and a total disrespect for authority, individuals and more worrying, themselves.
Added to all of this is the escalating cost of living. Insane welfare support for people who should be going to work instead of choosing a life of leisure. The figures are soaring. We are informed that 3,000 people are each week applying to board the welfare bandwagon. Who is paying for this? The very people who go to work and keep the wheels on the track which allow these idle, entitled individuals to reach out for financial support to sit at home, plan disruption to their neighbourhood, insult and threaten their neighbours, shops, hospitals, and anyone who challenges their life choices.
This government is not helping. With their addiction to welfare and supporting and allowing disruptive behaviour. Shutting down those who complain about aggressive partizan extremists peddling their ideology above our peaceful Christian society. Does the Prime Minister and his rag tag government not know that our Parliament and Monarchy are based on Christianity, the Church of England?
Who is protecting our fundamental rights? Who is countering the crazy utterings of the likes of Zack Polanski; the insane leader of the so-called Green party? This man would not recognise a healthy environment if he fell into it. I wonder if he has ever visited a farm, let alone the countryside. This dangerous lunatic is apparently seen as ‘attractive’ to an increasing number of the ‘young’, who have been brainwashed by their left wing/communist teachers and university lecturers.
He wants all livestock banished from farms. The very beings which bring health and nutrients, including bugs and worms to the all-important soil. Without livestock, the very crops which feed his bizarre vegan diet would not grow, and the countryside would become sterile as it relies entirely on synthetic, oil-based fertiliser, most of which is imported.
He announced on the very weekend when the world famous and very popular Grand National took place that he will ban horse racing. An industry which supports a £4billion industry. A key pillar and economic driver of the rural economy which supports more than 85,000 jobs across the UK.
While banning all the good things in life, Polanski wants to legalise Class A hard drugs including cocaine. He is also suggesting introducing brothels into every high street across the country. As I say, a very dangerous individual, who should probably be certified.
Mr Polanski’s latest ‘good idea’, in his quest to take over London in the upcoming local elections, is to destroy the capital’s already struggling rental market by promising rent controls.
At the launch of the Green Party’s campaign, he pledged policies which will severely limit the availability of homes. The party’s hostility to the private rental market verges on fanatical. At its conference last autumn, a motion titled “Abolish Landlords” was passed calling on the party “to seek the effective abolition of private landlordism”.
Apart from the introduction of rent controls and taking away all rights from landlords to terminate a tenancy, the Greens would impose a land value tax on owners, business rates on Airbnb’s and short lets, without exceptions. There would be National Insurance due on rental income, and “double taxation” for empty properties.
Tenants would have “first right to buy when landlords sell, with their total rent paid discounted”. Every single one of these policies – by the Greens’ own admission – is designed to make private renting less profitable, phasing out private landlords from the system altogether. Thus, reducing the quantity and quality of homes available to the very people the self-declared “Party of Renters” professes to represent. Did I say they are bonkers? Did I say their policies mirror communism? Well, I am saying so now.
As Katy Hopkins repeatedly tells us, this really is Bonkers Britain.
A lady who lives in Uplyme on the Devon Dorset border, regularly contributes to her local Parish Magazine with her witty poems. Diana Hunt contributed to the March edition with poems titled ‘Know it All’ and a second ‘Broken Britain’. This lady is clearly switched on to the shambles being created by the influx of boatloads of illegal immigrants arriving on our shores, who are welcomed with open arms and directed to 5-star hotels while our streets are littered by veterans of the Falklands, Afghanistan and other wars, who are disgracefully neglected. Her witty poems mention them all. The magazine has been forced to apologies as some ‘woke’ readers were offended.
Mrs Hunt also raised the irony of benefit cheats who claim to be unable to heat their homes whilst clutching the latest model of mobile phone, and obese people who claim they are too poor to eat.
“The high street where drug users, deal drugs in public places
They know there’s no police around - no need to hide their faces
The Fire Brigade and Police Force, are next to face the axe
Will we get a rebate as they’re paid by Council Tax?
If you don’t pay your Council Tax, you end up in jail
But peddle drugs on our streets - they get given bail.”
Don’t you just love this lady. I believe her work should be circulated more widely, certainly no apology is required.
