Will the results of last week’s local elections have any real effect on our lives? Does the rise of Reform, and to a lesser extent the Greens, indicate a complete change to British politics? I sincerely hope so in one direction, but not the other.
Labour certainly took a battering, quite rightly so. The Conservatives, other than in Westminster for whatever reason, really do look like a spent force.
Can Starmer recover? He clearly enjoys the perks of No 10 Downing Street and is determined to cling on despite the many calls for him to go quietly. I suspect the party will wait to eject the man until Andy Burnham finds a comfortable seat, if there is one. The thought of Angela Raynor or Wes Streeting with their warped, and extreme left-wing ambitions which will destroy what is left of this country’s reputation - is probably more than most Labour back benchers can stomach. As they say, a day in the life of Parliament is a very long time; so we watch, wait and hope for a miracle.
I must say I am bewildered that Zack Polansky and his so-called Green party, did as well as they did. Are there really that many people who approve of the Green’s policies, which include:
Legalising all Drugs including heroin, crack cocaine, and the date rape drug GHB
Legalising Prostitution and making pornography free-for-all, while allowing brothels to be set up on every high street.
Cutting Britain’s Defence Budget – enabling the Russians, Chinese and extremist Muslim nations to invade our shores.
Pulling the UK out of NATO
Reducing all motor ways to 55MPH
Abolishing the Monarchy
Giving free housing, access to the NHS and a weekly wage to all illegal migrants as soon as they set foot on our shore.
Their plans for the nation’s economy include introducing wealth taxes. These will no doubt include anyone with a proper job. A policy which will drive those who can afford to, to leave these shores for safer tax havens.
Such policies are the very worst elements of Marxist idiocy, bringing everyone down to the lowest common denominator – except for those in charge.
Mr Polansky has lied about being a spokesman for the Red Cross – he isn’t. He also falsely claimed in 2020 that he was “currently” working at the Ministry of Justice on their training & diversity programmes – he wasn’t.
He has been caught avoided paying council tax on the narrow boat he has been living in with his partner Richie Bryan. He bragged about it being their ‘home’, for the past three years. Polansky says he has rented a flat in Hackney which he has decided was his main residence, despite evidence from locals that this is untrue.
As the Daily Mail has repeatedly pointed out, Polansky and his mates are Palestine-obsessed, Jew-hating hypocrites. Not a bunch of fluffy, collective yesteryear moderates set on saving the planet, the environment, and the whale.
The Greens are infatuated by fashionable woke causes such as LGBTQ+ rights – and those affiliated with radical Islam, a movement whose members hold some deeply unsavoury views on people who aren’t heterosexual, and clearly hate Jews.
Unfortunately, the Green party seems to appeal to under 30s - particularly women; a first generation of post-literates. With a greatly reduced attention span, they don’t read newspapers, preferring to pick up their political affiliations from videos on social media, where their prejudices are confirmed and deepened by algorithms that feed them more of the same.
One Green candidate in Scotland called for all prisons to be abolished, no school education until the age of seven, no homework in primary school, and no exams in secondary schools. I believe ‘aspiration’ and ambition is not within their dictionary.
It is truly shocking to know that perfectly normal people think such a man and such a party should exist. Why anyone in their right mind voted for this dangerous rabble is quite beyond me.
As if shipping firms didn’t already have enough to cope with due to the disruption from the Iran war, they are now facing a new threat as unscrupulous fuel suppliers are flooding the market with tainted oil.
In recent weeks there has been a sharp increase in incidents of tankers breaking down, which experts have blamed on contaminated marine fuel cut with impure shale oil. The tainted blend can lead to “sludging” in which the fuel becomes more viscous. Not unlike the biofuel that was added to farm diesel which wrecked our tractors some years ago.
The problem has been most reported in Singapore, the world’s biggest hub for marine fuel, with reports of vessels encountering engine issues after taking on supplies. Cichen Shen, an expert at Lloyd’s List, said the problem was a direct result of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the effect on fuel costs.
We keep being promised rain which never materialises. As I write, I hear reports that it is raining cats and dogs in central London, as if they need it. We seem to spend an inordinate amount of time taking water bowsers to the newly planted traditional seven-acre orchard, where we have already lost around ten percent of the young trees. The ground is like concrete and our crops, mostly winter barley, are visibly stressed, having already broken into ear with very little straw.
Once again, the harvest will be disappointing, to say the very least, for the fourth year in a row. No doubt, this is due to climate change. Is this a patten we must get used to or will things return to normal? Whatever happened to April showers? We haven’t had more than a drop of rain since mid-March.
I must implore you all to brush up on your rain dancing – we are desperate.
